Pavilion Mall

We did not plan anything for our first day because we were so tired from our red-eye flight so we went to various malls for shopping and to get our tickets for tour up the twin towers. Our hotel is located at Bukit Bintang, its very convenient and just a 10-minute walk to Pavilion Mall and a good 30-minute walk to Petronas Towers and Suria KLCC.

I would really recommend staying in Bukit Bintang or Jalan Ampang areas when looking for hotels to stay in KL.

This was at the entrance of Pavilion Mall behind me is Uniqlo which I was looking forward to visit.

With my mother at Little Tokyo. By this time, I already got 2 pairs of shoes from a Malaysia shoe brand Sembonia. :)

Our whole travel group except for my brother’s wife who took this photo.

I was looking forward to visit shops that hasn’t arrive in Manila like Cotton On (opening in Lucky Chinatown Mall), Uniqlo (MOA, June) and Pull and Bear. Shopping in KL did not disappoint! I love the malls and shops there!

Don’t miss out on buying shoes in KL! They have so many homegrown brands that are of good design and quality. Vincci (that’s VNC here) is very cheap and always on sale!

ohtheusual asked: Hi! I was considering getting a digital perm but I'm unsure. Would it work for my hair? I don't want to get a perm and find out that I should have just left my hair straight and curled it when I wanted to. I want it because I'm sort of lazy and I don't want to spend time doing my hair every day. I just want to be able to wake up and have it more ready to leave the house in. If I were to get it would I need to style it?

If you have really straight hair like mine, you have to twirl and scrunch damp hair until it dries naturally. This took up most of my mornings before as hair dries slower when all bunched together but if you have wavy hair, you can just put styling products while damp, twirl then leave to dry (no need to scrunch). So it all depends on your hair type. Hope i answered your question.

Airport

I finally transfered our KL photos from my camera to my laptop! This is the first of series of photos which is by the way still in Manila on the way to the airport.

I wore shorts because it was so hot in Manila. Big mistake! Though I was very comfortable to move around in the airport and plane, I got very cold during the flight and long commute to the hotel. Our flight got delayed to 10pm so we arrived at the hotel at 4am! Note to self: ALWAYS bring a shawl or jacket when traveling no matter where your destination is. Would you wear shorts to the airport for comfort?

I’m Back!

I just got back from KL Malaysia last Tuesday and feeling a bit under the weather eversince that explains the lack of blog post. I will share some photos from my trip but still too lazy to extract the photos from my camera. I promise to get to that sometime this week. In the meantime, let me make it up and share what I wore on my first day back at work.

For the longest time I wanted to invest in some colored pencil-cut skirts to add colors to my everyday wear but was not able to find any! So to make up for that I added a colorful top and yellow belt (I did say I’m in love with mustard yellow this season). The top and belt are newly acquired from my trip. The shoes I couldn’t resist buying because I got them at buy one take one promo!

Top: Uniqlo

Skirt: Greenhills Bazaar

Shoes: CMG

Belt: F.O.S. (KL)

Mustard

My favorite color of the season is mustard yellow. I noticed that it really suits my complexion (unlike my all-time favorite color pink) and it goes well when paired with other colors. You can treat it as a neutral color like white or black.

The top is made of chiffon that is a little loose perfect for this scorching hot weather. What I like most about this top though (aside from the color) is the shredded fabric design on one side.

For this look, I wanted a pop of color inspired by summer so I wore my plum colored skirt together with the top. Looking at these photos, I felt that I under-accessorized, wish I have added a necklace or something. Would you wear this color?

Top: Rue

Skirt: Greenhills Bazaar

Shoes: Melissa

Scarf

This is what I wore last Tuesday where we had an impromptu photo shoot. It was a good thing I was feeling a little inspired that morning despite running late for work. You guys may remember the top I wore here only this time I used the belt as scarf.

I always try to style my clothes differently everytime I reuse them for variation. Can my belt pass off as an accessory scarf?

Top: Warehouse

Skirt: Greenhills Bazaar

Shoes: Le Saunda

Statement Necklace

I tried the black and gray combination again but this time I wore a pair of statement necklace to make up the simplicity of my outfit.

Its funny how the whole outfit turned out looking very “amazon” with the big tribal necklace and snake print shoes. I think its a nice twist to a classic though. What do you think?

Blast From The Past

I really like experimenting and playing with different hairstyles. This is my way of updating my look but I’m not into making radical changes like shaving my hair or dying it pink. Just subtle adjustments like new hair cut (no edgy styles, please!) or a digital perm.

Recently, I stumble upon an old photo of me. This was my hairstyle prior to the one I got now.

I was tired of my long stick straight hair back then so I had it digitally permed. The curls were perfect. They were big and sexy just what I’ve always longed for but maintenance was a nightmare plus it damaged my hair so much that they break very easily. So I had my hair chop off but I still got to rocked this look for 8 months.

So this is me now. I think this hairstyle suits me more or maybe I just outgrew the curly hair phase. I’m not so sure. What do you think?

This is what I do to add volume to my flat hair:

  • Blow dry hair from end to roots by lifting individual strands.
  • Ensure that hair is completely dry then use a flat iron to create more volume. Do not iron while hair is damp as this will damage your hair.
  • Clamp hair with your flat iron as close to the roots as possible and pull straight up toward the ceiling. As you get to the end of the piece of hair, twist your flat iron slightly to curve the end of the hair. This will create a natural look.
  • Put styling products (I prefer wax) to hold the volume then you’re done.

Fashion: Something Old

For this Lent, I made a vow to sacrifice shopping so it was a challenge for me but at the same time a pleasure at digging through my closet and discovering long forgotten pieces that were buried underneath hundred of clothes and being creative at mixing and matching them.

I wore this ensemble to run some errands yesterday. You may have notice that I’ve already featured these clothes in my other posts here and here. So what do you think of my ‘recycled’ outfit? :)

What I wore:

Top: Greenhills bazaar

Shorts: Folded and Hung

Shoes: Enzo (I got from HK a long time ago)

Bag: LV

If I ever need an SLR, this would be it. ♥♥♥

photojojo:

The year was 1981, and Pentax had just manufactured their 10 millionth SLR.

To celebrate, they made 300 18 carat gold plated and brown leather Pentax LX that came with a matching gold and leather f/1.2 50mm lens.

(It even came with white silk gloves for when you wanted to hold it!)
